10 of the Best Outdoor Patios in San Francisco

Finally, we're starting to get some sunshine in this city! Here are 10 of the best outdoor patios San Francisco offers whether you're grabbing a bite to eat or enjoying a cocktail.

1. Anina - $$

Anina is a tropical beer garden located in Hayes Valley perfect for first dates or hanging out in big groups. Their picnic table patio makes it easy for large groups to gather comfortably and bask in the sun while sipping on a fruity punch bowl.

2. Prubechu - $$

This restaurant is dubbed 'the backyard party', located in the mission this Guamanian restaurant has a selection of natural wines and beers as well as sake and umeshu spritzes. Their small bites such as the plump chicken wings are also perfect for sharing.

3. Kaiyo Rooftop - $$

Rooftop bars are few and far between in San Francisco and this one is located on the 12th floor of the Hyatt Place in SoMa with great views of the City. There is a dress code with only one rule - no jeans allowed. Peruvian and Japanese cuisine are crossed at this exclusive rooftop serving dishes like empanadas, chicken karaage, ceviche, cocktails, and wine.

4. Red Window - $$

This Spanish Restaurant is located in North Beach and is hard to miss with its colorful floral exterior. Here the parklets are covered and heated so even on a chiller SF evening you can still enjoy patio dining.

5. El Techo de Lolinda - $$

El Techo is another rooftop in San Francisco, this one is located in the mission, which welcomes you with pitchers of margaritas or Palomas for big groups. Their food is even more delicious than their drinks, I recommend the fish tacos or the chicharrones with a side of the yuca fries.

6. Horsefeather - $$

Horsefeather is a classic date night spot located on Divisadero. They do offer parklet seating but the indoor-outdoor feel of this spot is inside, they have a semi-outdoor atrium with a skylight that lets in natural light making it feel like you're in a swanky greenhouse.

7. Palm House - $$

Located in Cow Hollow, this tropical-themed bar features boozy slushies perfect for a hot San Francisco day. Whether you're on the patio or in the bar, their happy hour is one you won't want to miss with great small plates and drink discounts.

8. Charmaine's - $$

Sitting atop the Proper Hotel is Charmaine's, a rooftop bar complete with fire pits to stay cozy while watching the sunset over San Francisco. They take reservations for both indoor and outdoor dining, although for groups of three or more there is a $65 minimum.

9. Balboa Cafe - $$

The Balboa Cafe is a San Francisco classic that has been operating since the early 1900s. It has continued to be a local hotspot throughout the years and is best known for its espresso martinis.

10. Foreign Cinema - $$$

Foreign Cinema, located in the Mission, is a more elevated San Francisco patio. The high white walls feature a movie at night while the string lights overhead provide the perfect ambiance for a romantic or festive dinner. Don't overlook their brunch option which is equally as enjoyable!
