Looking for new coffee in the Richmond? Hologram, The Butterfly Joint, and HI NRG are three of the newest coffee spots in San Francisco’s Richmond District, and each one brings something different to the neighborhood.
One of my favorite things about living in the Richmond is all the great local businesses. These three couldn’t be more different from one another, and that’s exactly what I love about them.

Hologram feels different from your average coffee shop. The Filipino-Hawaiian menu, the retro space, and the breakfast sandwiches give it a personality all its own. It’s the kind of place you walk past once and immediately want to come back to.
4411 Cabrillo St missionlocal
A woodworking school with a coffee window and beans roasted in-house could only make sense in the Richmond. It’s unexpected and so specific to this neighborhood, and it’s well worth the walk toward the beach.
5801 Geary Blvd missionlocal
HI NRG built such a following as a pop-up at High Treason on Clement Street that it finally has a permanent home on Geary. Come for the coffee, stay for the music, and come back in the evening for a glass of wine.
