Where To Celebrate Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year Parade

The Chinese New Year Parade has returned! Head to 2nd St & Market, to Kerny & Columbus, on February 19th to celebrate the one of the best night parades for Chinease New Year in the world. You can reserve bleacher seats that range from $38-64/person. 

Chinese New Year Flower Market Fair

The weekend of January 29 - 30th, the weekend before the calendar turns from ox to tiger, the flower market fair is held (2nd St & Market to Kerny & Columbus) to gather life-affirming goodies. Available at the fair are fresh flowers (symbol of growth), fruit (citrus is a symbol of abundant happiness), and Harmony trays full of candy. 

44th Annual Lunar New Year Run

For those who are sticking to their New Years resolutions, the 44th Annual Lunar New Year run/walk takes place on March 6th at 855 Sacramento Street. Be sure to register in advance at ymcasf.org if you’d like to participate.

Lunar New Year at SF Symphony

The SF Symphony welcomes the year of the tiger with a musical overture. The show takes place on February 5th at 5pm and welcomes the debut of conductor Yue Bao and includes works by modern Chinese artists as well as traditional folk songs.

Lunar New Year Festival + Marketplace at The Crossing at East Cut

This particular festival and marketplace feature a celebrity chef and some of our favorite Chinese restaurants in SF all in one place. Find China Live Marketplace, Little Green Cyclo, Fang Restaurant, and the House of Nanking all in attendance at 200 Folsom Street on January 30th from 11am to 3pm.
